FretLab ("we", "our", "us") is a guitar learning application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address, display name, and authentication credentials (managed by Amazon Cognito).
• Progress data — which programmes you are enrolled in, your current level, completed exercises, daily routine history, and saved mixes.
• Subscription status — whether you hold an active subscription, managed via RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
• Login history — timestamps of sign-in events used to calculate streaks and activity metrics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To track your learning progress and generate personalised daily routines.
• To manage your subscription entitlements.
• To improve the app experience (aggregated, anonymised analytics only).

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, including Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Cognito. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, authentication, and database.
• RevenueCat — subscription management. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and subscription status.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides us your email and name per their privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

FretLab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Your continued use of FretLab after changes constitutes acceptance.
